Upon leaving his fort in Brest, the Sieur de Courtemanche moved to Brador. A very lucrative cod fish industry followed and Brador was once the most populated settlement in North America. Once located near the mouth of the Brador West River, the community was moved closer to neighbouring Lourdes in 1968.
While there, you can view beautiful Brador fall from a bellvedere which follows the falls.
Between Brador and nearby Middle Bay, one is able to see impressive boulder fields. These large stones were left erradically by retreating glaciers of the most recent ice age.
