    Lourdes De Blanc-Sablon

Lourdes-de-Blanc Sablon is one of the biggest villages on the Lower North Shore. Originally founded by French-Canadian families, it is now almost totally bilingual due to an influx of anglophones from Newfoundland in the 1870s. Lourdes-de-Blanc Sablon was one of the two administrative centers for the Lower North Shore until early this decade. However, many government offices and the hospital, which is the principal employer in that area, still remain. This community offers an excellent sojourn for those who love nature and the rugged outdoors.
