Kegaska is the western most community on the Lower North Shore. It is known for it's mile long beach where about half of the population have chosen to build residences. There is great opportunity to fish on the Kegaska river. There is deep sea fishing to be had as well. One can also whale-watch or bird-watch during the summer. There is also a shipwreck of the Brion which went down in 1976 that can be explored by visitors about 3/4 of a mile off shore.
