    Pourvoirie Kecarpoui / Kecarpoui Outpost

    Wilderness Camp at the mouth of the Kecarpoui River, 1 main cabin, 4 separate cabins (log style) with wood stove, kitchen compartment (propane stove), BBQ and picnic place, facilities to smoke fish - finished sauna - 2 outboard boats, 1 longliner (35 ft.) with diesel motor, 15 canoes in different sizes.

    Activities: Fishing in the Kecarpoui River (certified salmon river with non-exclusive rights) and the surrounding lakes of the Kecarpoui system (salmon, trout).


    Canoe Trips into the hinterland, short portages, canoes.

    Activities: Canoeing, fishing, hiking, swimming, watching wildlife.

    Terrain is comparable to Algonquin Park, Ont.

    System of lakes/portages comparable to Bowron Lakes, B.C., but genuine unspoiled terrain.


    Cabin on an island offshore in Kecarpoui Bay

    Activities: Boating, trips on longliner, saltwater fishing, hiking, sightseeing of land and seascape, berry picking in season, watching waterfowl, seals, whales, etc. Visiting and "having a yarn" with local fishing families.


    Gourmet meals with specialties from fresh and salt water, German and Canadian style.

    House on an island in the picturesque fishing village of Mutton Bay (all facilities ideal for salt water fishing) and sightseeing in the Archipel de Gros Mecatina, hiking in the Gros Mecatina hills.


    Access:
    • Flight to St. Augustin (YIF) from Montréal Dorval, transfer to camp 30 km by boat (inaccessible by road).
    • By freight or passenger boat "Nordik Express", calling in St. Augustin each Friday night / Saturday morning.
    • From the Maritime fight Halifax, N.S. - Stephenville, Nfld. - Blanc Sablon, Qc.
    Season: June 1st - September 15th

    Rates: Canadian $600.00 per person/week, family rates on request.

    Children welcome (min. age 5 yrs.). English, French and German spoken.


    Get Away From It All The camp "Kecarpoui Outpost" is a family affair and has been under the same ownership / management since 1970.

    The emphasis lies on the experience of genuine, unspoiled country. Guests should be in good physical condition and bring their own initiative, to enjoy an unforgettable personal sojourn. They can enjoy living Thoreau's Walden today and take part in a lifestyle very much apart from the North American way of life.
