Dog Island Adventures may appear to be just another outfitter on the outside. Unlike most others, we feel that if you are willing to invest in travelling to a remote region which is virtually unheard of, then you should not only take advantage of the great sport fishing, but also the culture, beauty and all that the region has to offer. An added advantage to our service is that lodging is located on an island in the ocean which is located near the mouth of several salmon rivers. The island produces a variety of added attractions and is a great place to escape the hordes of blackflies which usually invade the salmon rivers, lakes and ponds.

Dog Islands is where our lodge is located. It was once home to parents of 19 children. Their livelihood was the commercial fishery which still takes place from the island base. The island house was renovated to host guests for sport fishing and adventure packages. If lucky, you might be the one who gets to sleep in the feather bed. All will enjoy the taste of freshly caught species from the ocean or one of the many local dishes.

Adventure Packages take in such sites as the infamous Basque Whaling sites in Red Bay (Labrador), the oldest burial site in North America, the second tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada, Quebec's largest puffin colony, boat tours, and visits to local museums and sites of interest. Depending on the length of stay, prices per package may vary. A five day adventure costs $900.00 + applicable taxes. This amount does not include transportation to and from your destination which is the local airport or ferry terminal at Blanc Sablon, Quebec. Special packages can be arranged to suit the need of you or your group. Call for additional information. We try our best to offer the same quality of service to French speaking visitors.

Eco Sport Fishing Packages take you to rivers and waters which are virtually untouched by angling hands. Packages range from trout fishing to fly fishing for Atlantic salmon. Prices also range from a special promotion on trout fishing this 1998 season for $600.00 for five days to $1 600.00 for a one week guided adventure of angling for Atlantic salmon. Again, enquire for details and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
