Transportation

    Régionnair at airport in Chevery.The airlines are the primary means of transportation connecting the coast to other areas of Quebec and Canada. There are two airlines that service the Coast, Regionnair and Quebec Labrador. Both make two trips per day between Sept-Iles and Blanc Sablon with a stop-over in Harve St. Pierre, Natashguan, Chevery and St. Augustine. Helicopter and small aircraft services are offered to these villages unaccessible to the airlines stops.

    Nordik Express docked in Harrington Harbour.From April to January, the Nordic Express travels the Coast weekly, this ship carries both passengers and cargo. It has a capacity to carry 199 passengers, and 16 cabins with 64 berths in total. The boat stops in the following villages: Kegaska, La Romaine, Harrington Harbour, Tête à la Baleine, La Tabatière, St. Augustine and Blanc Sablon. A ferry service is also available in the eastern sector from May to January. The Northern Princess makes several trips per day from St. Barbes, Newfoundland to Blanc Sablon, Quebec.

    On the eastern sector of the Coast, roads connect the following villages: Blanc Sablon, Lourdes du Blanc Sablon, Brador, Middle Bay, St. Paul's River and Old Fort Bay. In the middle sector, there is a road travelling between La Tabatière and Mutton Bay. In the west, there is a road in construction between Kegaska and Natasquan.

    Snowmobile taxi travels to St. Augustine during the winter months.Boat Taxi Crosses St. Augustine River during the summer season..During the winter season, snowmobiles are ideal for travelling and are the most common form of transportation. Mobility amongst the villages becomes more frequent during the winter.
