One of the initial goals of the Coasters' Association was to assure government services to local residents in their native tongue. This has proved a challenge at times, but one from which the Association has not shied. The Association serves as a watchdog over existing bilingualism, as well as pushing for the improvement of weak points, particularly in the health system.
The Association also attempts to find jobs for unilingual English-speaking people, and cooperates with the federal Commissioner of Official Languages.
